The London Myth

No...the London Bridge is not falling down.  We were told the original London Bridge is actually in Arizona!  Who knew?  But the London Tower Bridge is a beautiful background for a picture!  Cheese!!!

From Paris to London....still lots to see and do before coming back home.  Today we hoofed around and tried to cross off as many things on our "To See" list as possible.
      1.   London Eye
      2.   Buckingham Palace
      3.   Palace of Westminster
      4.   Big Ben
      5.   Westminster Abbey
      6.   Trafalgar Square
      7.   Kensington Palace
      8.   Tower of London
      9.   Piccadily Circus
      10.   Abbey Road (The Beatle's famous cross-walk)
All morning we zig zagged across the city knowing that our time was limited in London and we didn't want to miss seeing anything.  Two days in London did not give us much time to enjoy all it had to offer.  So we stuck to our list and off we went!

Our first stop was Buckingham Palace to witness the changing of the guards.  (#2)

Next we headed back to see Westminster Palace and Big Ben.  As we posed for a picture above the Thames River, we could see the London Eye directly across the bridge from us.  (#3, 4, and 1)

Down the street a bit, we couldn't help stop for a pic with a mounted guard.  If this doesn't epitomized a London photo op....what does?

The Tower of London was a bit of a hike.  It sat right by the Thames River and below the Tower Bridge. We chose not to pay the entrance fee, but spent some time walking around the area.  At this point...we were tired of touring castles.  (#8)

After a long day on foot, we were able to see and do everything on our list except #6 and #10.  Of course, the night was still young.  Unfortunately, we definitely weren't going to be able to get to Abbey Road - day or night.  My Beatle's photo would have to wait until another visit.

Tonight we teamed up with our friends Lauren and G. to take the metro down to Trafalgar Square (#6).  We spent a few "pounds" ($1 pound = $1.60 US) at the local pubs and enjoyed some street performers before heading back to our hotel.
